Zulhamri Abdullah is an award-winning researcher currently lecturing at the Department of Communication, Universiti Putra Malaysia. His recent awards include the FUIW Prize for University Research 2007 and 2007 Top Researcher Award (APC) Universiti Putra Malaysia.

He earned a bachelor's degree in Communication (PR) from the National University of Malaysia and a master's degree in Organizational Communication from Universiti Putra Malaysia. He obtained his Doctor of Philosophy in Public Relations from Cardiff University, UK under the supervision of Professor Therry Threadgold.
